PV Photo-Voltaic
Inverter

- Instrument that converts the low-voltage/high current into the local standardized AC voltage.

- An electrical or electro-mechanical device that converts direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC).

Net Metering Net metering is a policy that allows homeowners to receive the full value of the electricity that their solar energy system produces
Solar cell A device that converts solar energy into electricity by the photovoltaic effect
Photovoltaic cell
PV cell
A device that converts solar energy into electricity by the photovoltaic effect
Crystalline silicon Polycrystalline silicon (or polysilicon, poly-Si, or simply poly in context) is a material consisting of multiple small silicon crystals .
Photovolaic array A linked collection of Photovoltaic modules, which are in turn made of multiple interconnected solar cells.
Transparent conductors New solar cells use transparent thin films that are also conductors of electrical charge.
Junction box Electromechanical device that connects the solar panel with the inverter
PV connector Connectorsystem that has been designed to connect solar panels on roofs
PV cable Cable that has been designed to connect solar panels on roofs to inverters
Stringer A machine that connects the individual cells to a string by means of tin plated flat copper wires
String Multiple individual cells, in line connected by means of tin plated flat copper wires
Building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) Photovoltaic materials that are used to replace conventional building materials in parts of the building envelope such as the roof, skylights, or facades.
Thin-Film PV Module A PV module constructed with layers of thin film semiconductor materials. Typical manufacturing processes are CVD and Sputter coating with CdTe and CIGS. The advantages of Thin-Films are low materials and processing costs. The disadvantage is lower efficiency.
Watt The unit of electrical power.
Power developed whit a potential difference of 1 Volt and a current of 1 Amps
